JPro Management Excellence Initiative

Employees are the most important determinant of organizations’ effectiveness, and developing and retaining talent at the field level is critical to the future of the Jewish communal sector. Investing in management skills has an outsized impact - it improves the performance of the supervisor and, in turn, the performance and engagement of their current and future direct reports. Specifically:

  • Managers have the greatest impact on their direct reports’ employee experience, affecting their engagement, performance, growth, and retention.
  • The average manager will supervise 40-50 people over the course of their career.
  • Managers are not born, they are made. Many high performers are promoted into management roles but receive no support, training, or supervision to develop their effectiveness in this area.

Why Management Training

Management or Supervision Training is one of the programs most often requested by JPro affiliates, and we are pleased to be ramping up this area of our work. While meeting our mission and serving the needs of the field, Management Training allows us to manifest many of our Core Values:  Access, by offering many classes online; Excellence, by offering best-in-class instructors; Learning, by the very nature of this program; and Interconnectedness, by including a networking component in each class.

Accessibility

JPro offers closed captioning for Management Trainings upon request. Let us know if captions would help you participate fully and we will make sure it happens. If you have other accessibility needs for this (or any other of our programs), please do let us know. We are engaged in a learning process about this, as well as many other aspects of DEIJ (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice) so we welcome your feedback and input.
