Lead with Impact: Essential Skills for Modern Managers

Being an excellent manager requires leadership rooted in behaviors and beliefs that are attentive to your team. How do you help your direct reports reach their full potential? How do you maintain awareness of your power and position and the way those impact your influence and relationships with supervisees? What does it mean to provide effective feedback, set goals and manage performance? What do you need to think about to adapt between managing up, across, and down in your organization?

In this interactive 4-part series, Amanda Silver will teach you tools, skills and frameworks to manage others effectively. Each session includes small group breakouts; large group discussion, self-reflection; and introduction of tools and frameworks you can apply immediately. By the end of the course you will be able to distinguish between leading and supervising and the importance of doing both well, regardless of where you sit in your organization.

Lead with Impact will focus on the following core competencies essential for managers:

  • Managing up, down, and across your organization
  • Creating performance management systems that work
  • Giving and receiving meaningful feedback
  • Running effective meetings
  • Prioritizing and delegating skillfully

This course is for you if:

  • You are a new or experienced manager looking for concrete, actionable management tools for your work.
  • You supervise at least one person on your team.
  • You want to learn key best practices to support your management approach.
