Join JPro and Keshet for a conversation about diversity, equity, and inclusion of LGBTQ+ individuals and communities in Jewish nonprofit workplaces. During this session, we will identify some of the common biases and barriers that impact LGBTQ+ identifying people in Jewish nonprofit workplaces, prepare to counter these instances with specific skills, conversations, and strategies, and workshop specific examples from your own experiences.
At the end of this 2-hour session, participants will be able to:
- Identify some of the most common ideological and cultural biases that lead to marginalization of LGBTQ+ people.
- Identify common practices and procedures that can present barriers to LGBTQ+ people accessing participation, employment, and leadership in many institutions.
- Identify concrete tools to build equitable policies, procedures, and interactions.
- Practice tools for interrupting anti-LGBTQ+ bias.
Note: This session is for people of all backgrounds and identities and assumes familiarity with LGBTQ+ identities and common terms used to describe them. This session is designed for people in all phases of organizational leadership (such as managers, human resources staff, anyone contributing to or maintaining workplace culture, and/or anyone working within the Jewish nonprofit sector).
