Incoming Chief Strategy Officer

JPro Announces the Hiring of a New Chief Strategy Officer

JPro is delighted to announce that Deirdre Munley will join its staff on June 7 as the organization’s first Chief Strategy Officer, a role which will amplify JPro’s ability to serve Jewish community professionals and catalyze change in our field’s talent acquisition, development, and retention. Deirdre comes to JPro following 11 years at Gateways: Access to Jewish Education, where she served most recently as Chief Strategy and Operating Officer.

“Deirdre brings strategic excellence, top-notch interpersonal skills, and passion for the Jewish nonprofit sector,” said Aliza Kline, Chair of JPro. “This rigorous process introduced our search committee to more than 200 inspiring Jewish community professionals. The talent in our field is strong, and with Deirdre on JPro’s team, we are even better positioned to deliver on JPro’s ambitious plans to serve our workforce and advance talent practices in our field.”

At Gateways, Deirdre co-created and implemented the organization’s strategic plan, partnered closely with the CEO, and designed and implemented new partnerships and programmatic growth areas. Deirdre was a member of Project Accelerate Cohort III and the UpStart Change Accelerator. She has been involved in several JPro programs as a participant and volunteer and brings vision for extending opportunities for Jewish learning and nonprofit management skills more widely across our workforce.

As JPro’s first Chief Strategy Officer, Deirdre will deliver results on JPro’s strategic priorities:

  1. Increase direct services to support ongoing needs for networking and professional development.
  2. Catalyze change in areas of high need: early career development and management excellence.
  3. Strengthen the field by increasing connection, deepening commitment, and inspiring passion.

“We were looking for a dreamer and a doer,” said Ilana Aisen, JPro’s CEO. “Deirdre brings creativity, problem-solving skills, and a track record of driving results. She will partner with the JPro staff and Board and leaders across the field to ensure excellence for and by all those who work in the Jewish nonprofit sector.”

Deirdre shared, "I have long admired not only JPro's mission of educating and supporting all of our sector's workforce, but also the thoughtful, inclusive, and high-quality approach JPro takes in everything it does. I’m looking forward to dreaming big, thinking outside the box, and building systems that enable us to understand and respond to the needs and pain points of our members. I am eager to grow our reach, promote Jewish learning and nonprofit skill-building opportunities, and increase opportunities for those who wish to “pay-it-forward” to mentor, teach, and strengthen the field.”
