Spotlight: Collaborative Brainstorming

Aaron Henne, Artistic Director, theatre dybbuk

Generating ideas with your staff and boards is an essential part of a productive work environment. Join JPro and Aaron Henne to learn a step-by-step process that will enable you to see how to best encourage productive brainstorming that will result in tangible outcomes. In this Spotlight Master Class, you will engage with structures and techniques designed to facilitate inclusive conversations and to build community in efficient ways.

During this session, you will look at collaboration as an opportunity to find points of intersection, even among seemingly disconnected elements. You’ll come away with tools for empathetic listening and productive conversation and techniques for facilitating productive planning sessions for boards and staff members. This Spotlight Master Class is especially useful for those engaged in strategic planning processes with lay leaders and professionals.

This class is for you if:

  • You are interested in gaining brainstorming tools that can be used to bring seemingly disconnected ideas together.
  • You are responsible for program development or for leading planning processes with your board and/or team.
  • You are unsure about the best approach to effective brainstorming.

This class is not for you if:

  • You are interested in working collaboratively but are not responsible for bringing groups of professionals or lay leaders together.
  • You do not facilitate planning conversations or help to lead program development.

By the end of this class you will:

  • Learn frameworks to collaboratively imagine programs, initiatives, and partnership opportunities.
  • Gain techniques for facilitating productive brainstorming that can be used with staff and boards.
