Lyn Light Geller has spent over 30 years working for the Jewish community. She currently is the executive director of the Wiener Center for Leadership and Learning at UJA-Federation of NY. The Wiener Center is committed to strengthening the Jewish community and its organizations by fostering professional and lay excellence. Lyn has an MSW in community organization/planning and a certificate in non-profit management. She has served as a Hillel director on several campuses and as a member of the national staff of United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism. Lyn has been adjunct professor at Wurzweiler School of Social Work of Yeshiva University and at the Jewish Theological Seminary, and a faculty consultant for the Institute for Not for Profit Management for Jewish Communal Service at the Columbia Business School. Lyn sits on several academic advisory committees which focus on developing professionals for the field; is special advisor to the president of JPRO Network; and is currently Chair of the Board of Congregation Beth Sholom in Teaneck, NJ.
The mission of JPRO Network aligns completely with the focus of my own work – just on a broader, national scale. Those who work in the Jewish not for profit sector need the visionary leadership that a national entity can provide and JPRO provides that.
