Biography

Arya is a first-generation American born to Iranian-Jewish immigrants. Raised in Los Angeles, Arya earned his B.A. in psychology at the University of California San Diego, and later completed an M.A. in organizational behavior at New York University. Having grown up with a more cultural connection to Judaism, involvement in his undergraduate Hillel chapter shaped the trajectory of his adult life and career path. For nearly 15 years, Arya has cultivated his leadership in Jewish communal service ranging from Hillel on campus, to Hillel’s International Center, at JQ International in Los Angeles, and most recently for a brief time with KAHAL: Your Jewish Home Abroad. A community organizer at his core, Arya is driven by empowering Jewish identity, enriching Jewish community, and ensuring Jewish continuity on a global scale. He has an insatiable passion for travel, and his volunteer engagements in the Jewish community include JDC Entwine, JPro, AJC, Schusterman’s ROI community, and others.

Why I Serve on the JPro Board:

I serve on the JPro Board because JPro has served as an invaluable resource to the Jewish communal spaces I have worked within, and to me as a Jewish communal professional as well. From classes, to coaching, networking to convening, I believe in and proudly support the JPro Network’s commitment to educating, connecting, inspiring and empowering our entire sector to our greatest potential.
